TAAA 2019 President
Clyde Kornegay – Bennack Flying Service, Inc., San Benito, Texas
It’s that time of year again! We all start paying more attention to the ten day forecast, trying to get any side projects done (or at least where they can be put on hold on short notice if need be), and making sure our airplanes are ready to get through that first 100 hours of the new season without any unnecessary stops. Planting has already begun in some parts of the state, and is still a ways off for others, but the 2019 Texas Ag season will soon be upon us all.
The 86th legislative session has already kicked off in Austin. TAAA has a well-established history spanning many years of making sure our voices are heard and our concerns are addressed, not just regionally, but statewide. Our executive director, Chris Shields, will be monitoring and engaging as necessary to make sure that our interests are well represented throughout this session. We will also continue to develop our relationship with the regulatory agency we all deal with the most, the Texas Department of Agriculture.
I would like to once again thank everyone who attended our convention in San Antonio earlier this month. It is always a great time to see old friends, get some needed perspective on safety and professionalism through both Compaass Rose and PAASS sessions presented by NAAREF and to see what is available on the leading edge of application innovation from all our participating vendors.
Stay safe and have a great season!
2019 TAAA President
